Bend Polymerase Chain Reaction PCR COVID-19 Testing

Mountain Medical Urgent Care can perform a PCR COVID-19 test in Bend, Oregon. A PCR test detects specific genetic material unique to the COVID-19 virus using a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A fluid sample is collected by inserting a nasal swab (nasopharyngeal swab) into your nostril and taking fluid from the back of your nose. This sample is sent overnight to a nationally accredited lab and results are available in 3-5 days — PCR tests are very accurate when properly performed by a health care professional.

Bend Antibody Testing for COVID-19

You can ask your Mountain Medical Urgent Care provider for a COVID-19 antibody test. This lab test detects antibodies that are made by your immune system in response to the COVID-19 virus. Antibodies can help fight infections. Antibodies can take several days or weeks to develop after you have an infection and may stay in your blood for several weeks or more after recovery. Because of this, antibody tests should not be used to diagnose COVID-19, but are very useful in establishing a history of infection. It is currently unknown if the presence of antibodies means that you will be immune to COVID-19 in the future.
