TB, or Tuberculosis, is a disease caused by bacteria that can attack any part of
the body but usually attacks the lungs. TB is spread through the air from one
person to another. Someone with active TB can spread it to others through
coughing, sneezing, or speaking. Symptoms can include weakness or fatigue,
weight loss, chills, fever, night sweats, loss of appetite, pain in the chest,
coughing up blood or phlegm from deep inside the lungs, or a bad cough that
lasts longer than 2 weeks.
A TB skin test is the only way to find out if you have TB infection.
